How to Get Rid of Different types of Pimples – Causes and Prevention

You are not alone, almost all of the teens get pimples on their skins especially during the periods, while women are more vulnerable to pimples during pregnancy. And the problem is not only limited to females; pimples can be expected on male skin too.

Why Pores Get Clogged?

There are several sebaceous glands situated inside your skin that continuously generate oil for your skin’s good. They transfer the oil through hair follicles to the outer skin layer. Sometimes, due to various reasons the glands can become overactive and start producing more amount of sebum, when that large amount of oil become unmanageable for your hair follicles, they get blocked/clogged.

What are the Causes of Pimples?

There are tons of causes that you may get pimples, but all of them are not for everyone, some may be true for you while others may prove wrong if examined for a single individual’s body (skin).

The primary reason of getting pimples is the androgen hormones. Androgens play a role in making your skin pores larger by pushing extra sebum into it.

At the age of puberty, these androgens increase in both boys and girls. These androgens also increase during pregnancy and by taking birth starting or stopping pills.

Some other reasons of getting acne outbreaks are:

  • Pimples run in families, if your parents had them, then there are more chances that you may have them too.

  • The most important one is stress; because when you have stress, you are messing up with your hormones.

Types of Pimples

There are various types of Pimples; some are inflammatory while others are not. Some are milder or moderate while others are severe. An untrained eye may not differentiate between them in most circumstances. if you often get pimple outbreaks, then you won’t face much difficulty in recognizing them and choosing the best suitable treatment according to your pimple type.

Pimples mostly appear in milder form i.e Blackheads or Whiteheads, but that doesn’t mean you can’t expect it in other forms like Papules, Pustules, Nodules, and Cysts.

In appearance, they are exactly what its name says i.e. Blackheads, small bumps like black dots.

And the black color they obtain is because of the flow of oxygen through its open side and the oxidation of debris inside the hair follicles.

Blackheads can appear everywhere on your body like inside ear, on the face, on forehead, etc. but their favorite place is nose.

Unlike blackheads, the pores are closed from both sides. That is why it is called closed comedones (comedo if singular).
